Renovations completed, Manchester bus station to reopen

MANCHESTER – The renovated Manchester Transportation Center will reopen Monday, resuming its full-service ticket counter and service to Boston South Station and Logan International Airport.
The city-owned station at 119 Canal St. was closed in May for extensive renovations, including work on the heating system, the bathrooms, the flooring and the ticket counter. Boston Express Bus will operate the station.
"We are confident the citizens of Manchester will be pleased with the terminal's new look," said Ben Blunt, general manager of Boston Express. "The overall appeal and safety of the facility have been vastly improved."
Boston Express Bus and Concord Coach Lines will continue to provide service to Boston. Buses to Boston made curbside stops on Elm Street during the renovation, with a stop at the Londonderry terminal for ticketing.
The Manchester Transit Authority will also begin running routes from the center again Monday, while Greyhound and Peter Pan are expected to resume service next month.

Agreed, free parking is a MUST for Manchester to keep that station running and, more importantly, profitable.

The Boston bus has been running from in front of the Raddison during this construction.

Good news, but when/where will commuters park for free like Londonderry?

Just remember this when you cry about wanting smaller government

Who payed for this? If it was 100% payed for by private funds, awesome job! If it was payed for with tax dollars, then Boston Express and concerned citizens of Manchester should bow their head in shame. if it was subsidized with tax payer money, the solution is simple; Raise the rates you charge to travel between Manchester and Boston. if you can't run a profitiable company, then you shouldn't be running a company at all.

Happy to know that if I want to head down to Boston for a weekend on the bus and not drive down there, I have that option again. Pretty reasonable prices to get to South Station, too.

Glad to hear it!

When are we going to expand the parking situation so that it is as convenient as Concord and Londonderry?

Finally, how out of touch does Manchester look when we can't even keep a tiny bus station going downtown.

It's good we are back on the map again.
