About Union Leader Sponsorships
The Union Leader seeks to be a good corporate neighbor, while seeking to encourage brand loyalty through our sponsorships. Our goal is to reach target markets through events that provide educational, entertainment or cultural experiences that are relevant to our readers' lives. Through these events, we can further our relationship with readers and potential readers.
Sponsorship Requirements
The Union Leader maintains that it be the exclusive newspaper sponsor of an event, with the exception of publications owned by Union Leader Corp.

Events should generate awareness of the newspaper and encourage readership and purchase of the newspaper on a continuing basis. We look for the opportunity to sell or sample the newspaper at events.
The Union Leader logo (or mention of the Union Leader name) should appear on all event or program promotion, including but not limited to:
- print materials (ads, posters, signage, billboards and merchandise)
- broadcast (television, radio and cable)
- interactive media (on-line listings, banners)
The Union Leader logo, and those of other sponsors that provide a comparable level of commitment, should be the only logos in in-paper ads. Logos of sponsors who do not offer reciprocal promotion should not be included.
Only the official Union Leader logo provided by the Community Relations Department should be used on materials. All parties should approve copy and layouts of sponsorship ads, including promotional ads containing the Union Leader logo that will appear in other publications.

Events should support the kind of content readers find in the newspaper. The Union Leader’s agreement to sponsor an event or program does not guarantee news coverage. We encourage event organizers to work directly with the news department to arrange coverage of their events.
For in-kind sponsorships, the event organizers and the Community Relations Department should agree upon promotion ad schedules in writing. The Union Leader will make every effort to place ads in requested sections, but placement cannot be guaranteed. Event organizers will be provided with specifications for ad sizes and deadlines for submitting ads.
All Union Leader sponsorships are formalized with Reciprocal Trade Agreements, which are generated by the Community Relations Department. The agreements are signed by the newspaper’s Chief Financial Officer and co-signed by the event organizer.
